Fake GMBs Are Taking Over
The Wall Street Journal reported this week that there are 11 million illegitimate local listings on Google with hundreds of thousands being created each month.
Google responded saying they are developing new ways to crack down on these fake listings.
What does this mean for your business?
44% of local businesses have yet to claim their Google My Business listing. This leaves the door wide open for scammers to take advantage of the map pack position you deserve.
Even when business owners do claim their listing, they often times do not know how to properly optimize it. This again, leaves the door open for an illegitimate listing to dominate.
This is where you can benefit from a marketing professional managing your GMB and local search optimization. We can help you take advantage of the same “tactics” the other guys use but for the good of promoting your legitimate business.
